Wow! I did it. I went to Shoppers this evening. I can’t believe it is 8:33 PM as I start writing this. I treated the family to Ci-Ci’s pizza for dinner. What a treat! I know it is high calories but it sure is good. Afterward, the three of us went to Shoppers. My hubby is a trooper so is my little girl.
I’m definitely not a pro like MoneyWiseMoms, Redemption Unlimited Girls and FrugalFriends! They know exactly what they are doing.
Now a couple things I learned! Going with my family was good because it was a family affair but it did take longer then I expected. As I always say, make sure you have a game plan before going. I was so excited that I could get to Shoppers tonight that I collected all of my coupons and started shopping. I added up the $30+ for the Catalina and went over it a little bit. Of course I can use all of the items that I got but it would have made much more sense if I just did the Catalina deal first and then went back to get the rest. I’m not sure if I can get back to Shoppers before the end of triples so I went ahead and bought what I could. Plus, the shelves were getting low and it’s only Saturday.
The best part about this Catalina deal is most of the items you can get coupons from online! I only used a few coupons from inserts.
Thanks to MoneyWiseMoms for the information about this great Catalina deal. Buy $30 qualifying products and get $15 worth of Catalina coupons to use for your next trip.

They didn’t print at the cashier because the machine wasn’t on. Oops, but I learned something new! The cashier and manager explained this to me. If this happens to you the cashier or manager can get it for you but takes them to void a transaction. Take 1 item that goes with the deal and they will scan it over and over to reach the amount of the required purchase then have the Catalina print out and void the transaction. Yes, it takes a manager to void the transaction but it worked.

Hi Laura! You are a pro in my book!
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Yes, my husband was very patient and even helped get some things I forgot. He knew I was on a mission and goes for the ride.
Holly
Hi Holly,
You had a great shopping trip for triple coupons! And that’s impressive that you had the whole family there together with you; I think my hubby would get impatient with me, because I can take a long time, especially on my first trip during a triples event.
By the way, you are too kind to say that I’m a pro… but you know me, I’m just a regular coupon-crazed mom who likes to stock up on free/cheap items whenever the stores have these wonderful triple coupons events. Not a pro, still a lot to learn, and it’s so nice to find other like-minded savers/couponers like yourself.
Talk to you soon!
Laura

Hi Eric,
That is fantastic! I’m impressed. Well, my cashier was excited and started asking me how to find the internet coupons. I told her. She told me that she has a guy customer who comes every week and basically only pays TAX! Plus, she has a customer that buys 20 papers each week! Now, those are pros. hahaha!
Holly
That’s awesome. I made out with 48% savings at Shoppers yesterday. $97 dropped down to $51. (Here’s my haul: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fallenposters/4083776455/)
The cashier told me that they didn’t take internet coupons despite the sign posted next to her that said they took them up to $1. I argued with her until she asked another cashier that corrected her.
I didn’t do the catalina deals, but next time I’ll have to shoot for those.
