This is a great deal.  Plus there are a lot of x/xx coupons this week and per Frugal in Virginia Giant accepts competitors coupons.  Click here to see the post. My plan is to go to customer service about a couple issues tomorrow. 1. I want to ask them about the competitors coupon. 2. I want to return some Giant brand Motrin because it was expired when I bought it.  I'm used it and noticed after I used it that it was expired.  I still have the receipt. Antique Car Show 5/16/09

For a fun filled May afternoon go the Fairfax City Antique Car Show.  My family has gone to these type of events in the last couple of years and they are a lot fun.  The best part is it is FREE to attend.   Plus, you can watch a Model T be put together in front of your eyes!  Kids of all ages have fun and learn a lot too. Staples Shopping Trip – 5/6/2009

Here is an update to this shopping trip...I received the following rebates back. Thanks to several posts -TheThriftymama.com, Redemption Unlimited, CouponCravings.com I went to Staples this evening with my husband and daughter. I saw that a package of HP paper would be $1 after the rebate!  Since I've been using a lot of paper for coupons I liked Redemption Unlimited's idea of buying the paper.  Then I saw CouponCravings's post about the Casio Label maker.  My husband I love to create labels on just about everything.  Yes, my husband put a label on our label maker.  hahaha...in any case, I showed my husband my list and instead he started looking at the laptop deal on the front page. We kick off Saturday, May 2nd with an Adopt a Stream clean up of the community! Meet us at the marina at 9 a.m. to have some fun while making Belmont Bay even more beautiful. The prize categories always keep us guessing right up to the last minute. I went to Shoppers this evening and got some great deals.   Here are some tips: Don't use the self-checkout Because it won't accept coupons that equal overage. The computer won't accept coupons after a couple and the cashier has to enter them. The cashier might not double or triple them accurately, because he/she has to do it manually. Go to a regular checkout line. Do a small transaction. It is a lot easier to keep track of coupons in smaller transactions. And, you don't have to take as long in line. My daughter is such a trooper.  She loves to go shopping and watch the people.  I went to Giant yesterday with my daughter to do my plan that I listed the other day.  I'm so silly! I've learned my lesson make sure you PRINT out or write down the amounts that you plan to buy.  I went up to the cashier rang up my items and the total was over $12!  The bags didn't get taken off.  What happened? Well, my total was only $11 and some cents - not $15.  I forgot to buy another Scotts tissue.   I couldn't remember on top of my head what I planned to buy as the other item.  So, I asked the cashier if I could go back and find the extra item…

A couple years ago my mother-in-law and I started to drag the rest of the family to yard sales all over the area.  She found this wonderful yard sale called the "Troop 893 Annual Tag Sale", located every spring at the Chantilly Expo Center.  It is huge!
