Time to think about 2010 Summer vacations?

It's cold outside! I know, but I want to think about warm weather for a least a minute. It's too cold. Right now I'm thinking about my 2010 goals for the year and one of them is to think about a vacation. We need one!  I'm sure you do too.  Why not add that to your 2010 goals?  Besides what a perfect time to plan, it might make you feel warmer! Applesauce Muffins

This past weekend I made these yummy muffins.  Sorry I don't have a picture. They were pretty much gone in a day! I found this recipe in the ad for Giant food - Jan 1 - Jan 7.   It looks like this is from Cheerios website but their recipe section is currently not working. Applesauce Muffins 2 cups Cheerios cereal (crushed) 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 tsp baking powder 1 cup applesauce 1/3 cup fat free (skim) milk 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil 1 egg 1/2 cup raisins (optional, but highly recommended!) 3/4 tsp. baking soda Heat oven to 400 degrees F.  Spray bottoms only of 12 regular-size muffin cups with cooking spray.  Crush cereal.  In a large bowl, stir together…

The Cost of Diapers 2010 – January Update

One of the reasons I started to get into couponing was because of the cost of diapers and wipes.  I would go to Walmart, Sam's Club, Target, Babies R Us and compare the prices and figure which store would give me the best deal and then I discovered the 'coupon'.  Coupons as you may or may not already know hold the key to finding some great deals.  In the last year thanks to the CVS and Rite Aid I've lowered my cost to diapers to about $300 a year. This is an estimate so this year I plan on costing out how much I spend on diapers and soon training pants. My little girl isn't a little girl anymore.  She wears size 6 and is a "big" girl!  Size 6…

You should get the Washington Post or your local Newspaper this week 1/10/10! There is a Redplum and SmartSource this week with a fair amount of coupons.  I noticed a lot of high value ones including a lot of $2 coupons.   Target has some good deals this week including a $10 Prescription coupon and Staples has a great week too including coupons for a lot of items just for a $1.00! Harris Teeter Shopping Trip 1/8/2010

Thanks so much to Laura from Frugal Friends for meeting me at Harris Teeter this morning!   My daughter had a great time.   It is so nice to go with another couponer because you can think creatively and share coupons too!  Plus, it helps to have someone else to ask, "Is this a good deal?" I also want to compliment Harris Teeter in Manassas again because they have very good customer service and Harris Teeter because they are so kid friendly!  Not only do they have "cool" carts for the kids to "drive" around the store but they have a "free" cookie and "free" balloon for the kids too.  The cookies can be found in the bakery aisle or the front the store entrance and the balloons are at the exit…
