Giant Shopping Trip 5/29/09

Coupons, Giant, Shopping Trips, Uncategorized
Ok did it!  I completed a pretty good shopping trip at Giant. OOP $56.57.  Not to bad. However, it got lower... I did have a problem using the X/XX Bloom coupon because you have to have a cashier enter it in or the customer service and this is usually something you want to use first.  I got back $10.25 for that coupon + tax!  Yeah, I was surprised that I got tax back too. Then the Cat machine didn't print out my $2 for the Deer Park water deal.  I got $2.00 back for that. Last, I didn't get back my $.05 for each bag.  The manager was wonderful in refunding me all of these things and he said there was a way to do this at self checkout.  I…

Giant Shopping Plans 5/24/09

Thanks to Redemption Unlimited for the info about the $3/$15 Meat coupon.   Click here to see the post. This is a great deal.  Plus there are a lot of x/xx coupons this week and per Frugal in Virginia Giant accepts competitors coupons.  Click here to see the post. My plan is to go to customer service about a couple issues tomorrow. 1. I want to ask them about the competitors coupon. 2. I want to return some Giant brand Motrin because it was expired when I bought it.  I'm used it and noticed after I used it that it was expired.  I still have the receipt. Then thanks to Frugal in Virginia for these good deals.  Click here for her site. I'm trying to figure out a better way to…

Shoppers Shopping Trip 4/25/09

Coupons, Shopping Trips, Uncategorized
I went to Shoppers this evening and got some great deals.   Here are some tips: Don't use the self-checkout Because it won't accept coupons that equal overage. The computer won't accept coupons after a couple and the cashier has to enter them. The cashier might not double or triple them accurately, because he/she has to do it manually. Go to a regular checkout line. Do a small transaction. It is a lot easier to keep track of coupons in smaller transactions. And, you don't have to take as long in line. This works great when you bring kids along. I bought the following and saved a lot!  As soon as I find the card reader I will post a picture. I had to go to customer service to fix the…

Giant Shopping Trip 4/22/2009

Coupons, Giant, Shopping Trips, Uncategorized
My daughter is such a trooper.  She loves to go shopping and watch the people.  I went to Giant yesterday with my daughter to do my plan that I listed the other day.  I'm so silly! I've learned my lesson make sure you PRINT out or write down the amounts that you plan to buy.  I went up to the cashier rang up my items and the total was over $12!  The bags didn't get taken off.  What happened? Well, my total was only $11 and some cents - not $15.  I forgot to buy another Scotts tissue.   I couldn't remember on top of my head what I planned to buy as the other item.  So, I asked the cashier if I could go back and find the extra item…

Thanks to IheartRiteAid.com for all of the great info! I ran into Rite Aid this evening and did 2 transactions. The cashiers weren't too happy when I used 2 $5/25 but they did allow it. I know it isn't the best thing to do but I wanted to get in and get out and most of the deals were already taken. I was hoping to get the Tear drops for free but they were out, so I thought I would get the coke deal and they were out of that too. So, this is what I came up with. I wanted to buy the Shampoo and Claritin so I split them up in two transactions. Transaction #1 john frieda shampoo $5 john frieda shampoo $5 john frieda shampoo $5 john…
