Give to the Max on 11/9/2011 and support the Greater Washington Nonprofits!

It's that time of year!  It is time to thank our blessings for what we have and to share what we can.  Starting at midnight on Wednesday, November 9, local residents will donate online to help raise millions of dollars for local nonprofits as part of the first annual Give to the Max Day: Greater Washington. Give to the Max Day is a massive one-day regional online fundraiser that will unite local Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC communities to support nonprofits serving the area.  As part of Give to the Max Day: Greater Washington, nonprofits large and small can earn their share of $125,000 in cash awards, including up to $25,000 for nonprofits with the most individual donors and the most money donated.  Click HERE for a list of places…

Happy New Year! and Donations!

Happy New Year!  I'm so excited even though the weather today isn't the prettiest it sure is nice to to be home and rest with the family.   Plus we are going to make my version of the Starbucks Ginger Bread Latte!  Cheers! I just wanted to send a quick reminder to everyone that it is Dec 31st, which means you should complete any 2009 donations today!   There are so many charities that need help and even it is a, $1 or $5 it is so appreciated by those that don't have much.   Plus, most charities are tax-deductible which can help with 2009 taxes.  Giving is worth it! CVS and Staples are having a lot of free or cheap school or office supplies.  It is that time of year again!  Plus, you donate some of them too.   In our area, so many schools need supplies more than ever.  It is so helpful for parents and volunteers to help their teachers and students out. Belmont Bay – Occoquan River Communities – 5/2/09

There is no shortage of things to do in Belmont Bay this weekend! Come out and enjoy the spring weather and renew neighborhood ties. We kick off Saturday, May 2nd with an Adopt a Stream clean up of the community! Meet us at the marina at 9 a.m. to have some fun while making Belmont Bay even more beautiful. The prize categories always keep us guessing right up to the last minute. The Adopt a Stream clean up is followed by the Belmont Bay site activities for the Occoquan River Festival at the marina pavilion (rain date for Festival is 05/03).
