Organization 2012

crafts, DIY, Organization 2012, Uncategorized
Organization 2012 My husband and I were talking about goals that we have for ourselves this year.  Our kids are young so just having a good time while they are little is important to us.    This means we need to be better about organization. Organization is constant with my 3 year old. Don't forget I have identical twin boys that are starting to crawl.  Babyproofing is never ending!   I've learned that if one system doesn't work right now, there will be another system that does work.  I'm still trying to figure out the right methods to get laundry done but I will find it!   I'll be talking about that too. This month I wanted to talk about kids crafts.   I love crafts.  We have everything to do crafts…

Meal Planning 1/2/2012

Meal Planning, Uncategorized
It has been years since I wrote up a formal meal plan.  With the twins being born last spring we were in survival mode whatever we could get our hands on for dinner was dinner.   Sometimes it was frozen pizza, left overs, or cereal.     Now that the boys are eating a lot more baby food and table food it is time to get back on the meal planning bandwagon. Monday: Lunch Shrimp Pasta Dinner: Cowboy Super Tuesday:  Lunch PB&J Dinner: Shrimp Pasta left overs Wednesday:  Lunch Tuna Lorenzo Dinner:  Tacos Thursday: Lunch Pasta Os (from Aldi $.64 a can)  and Black Beans (from Aldi $.64 a can)  Super yummy! Dinner: Cowboy Super left overs - I will be attending my FCMOM meeting. Friday: Lunch Fastfood? Dinner:  Dinner out -…

2011 Savings Challenge

2011 Savings Challenge, Uncategorized
It is that time of year again. The end of the year. Besides holiday fun it is also the time to think about my budget for the upcoming year and think about how we did this past year. How well did we do in 2011? Since I didn't get a chance to post about it.  My plan was simple. My plan in 2011 was to live within our means.   However, we had a lot of challenges this year. 1. First we were blessed with identical twin boys this year!  Our family grew from 3 to 5 in just a couple months. This meant we had to make a tough decision on child care.  I decided to stay home with the kids. We went from 2 incomes to 1 in a…

Our Christmas Tree 2011 – Making our own decorations

Activities, DIY, Uncategorized
This year is my first year as a stay-at-home working Mom.  Since my daughter is a bit older and the twins are still infants I thought it would be best to make ornaments for the tree. We made stars, and snowflakes from paper.  Doodle had a great time cutting out different shapes and we talked about each of them.  We cut out diamonds, triangles, squares and circles.   We hung up some plastic icicles and wooden red garland that I had from our Christmas stash. For years I've wanted to make an Avent Calender that we could use every year.  The chocolate ones are yummy and the germany ones are so sweet but the last couple of years we kept forgetting the days.  Plus Doodle would tear the paper.  Oops!  Instead I…
