Merry Christmas!

From my family to yours - Merry Christmas, and see you in the New Year! I will continue to do the best I can and post any interesting deals as I find them. I will be taking a break like most bloggers and enjoying the holiday season, but when I find interesting tidbits to share I will do the best I can. A couple reminders! I'm a huge fan of Food Network! I love watching all of the shows especially shows that teach neat tricks and easy simple to do meals. A couple years ago I saw one of my favorite shows Good Eats - Alton Brown host and it was a show about Ham! I've never cooked a ham in my life. I knew it wasn't that hard because City hams are usually fully cooked and besides when I've eating a honey baked ham they taste good but not GREAT! I might prefer Turkey instead. Making your own Holiday Envelopes!

This last year I got Martha Stewart Living for free! The magazine has a lot of creative ideas. This evening I was looking for Christmas labels and I found this creative idea for envelopes. Using the Martha Stewart method and you don't have to spend any money! Use some of the scrap wrapping paper from gift wrapping. Unfold a regular envelope. Choose patterned paper larger than the envelope (or stick mismatched pieces together with glue). Trace the envelope onto the paper, fold (use envelope as a guide), and secure with glue stick. I love getting ready for the holidays. It is the most beautiful time of the year. This year I'm pretty much done with Christmas shopping! I can't believe I can say that. Don't get me wrong I still have a lot to do. Not to mention working full time outside the house. I'm also helping do calligraphy for a wedding so my time is limited. Calligraphy Project – Christmas Cards and Wedding Invitations

Besides starting Christmas shopping and finishing up Thanksgiving turkey, in the evenings I've been working on practicing my Calligraphy for a family member's wedding invitations. Here is an example of my Calligraphy version of "Virginia". It's funny how words look odd after you look at them for a long period of time. As I practice, I'm also writing my addresses for my Christmas cards. Might as well! Practice makes perfect. How to make Liquid Foaming Hand Wash?

I'm a huge fan of Dial complete and other liquid foaming hand wash. For several years I would buy the refills at Walmart. Now, I look for good deals everywhere I go. I've tried in the past to make my own but it would come out foaming for a day and then it would stop working. The best deal I've found to buy it at Aldi I believe it is under $2 last time I was there. Then here is the recipe for refilling your container! 1. Find some gel like liquid soap. I recommend gel form because it needs to dissolve. The creme version will not dissolve and the pump will not be able to foam it. You can get the gel form really cheap! You could even try…

Where to find local coupons in your area? I plan on going out to dinner this evening and remembered that I saw a coupon in one of those home mailers but I had no idea which ones. I came across the Money Mailer coupon website. I'm pretty impressed. I usually go through the Money Mailer and throw away most of them and sometimes I just don't have the time to flip through. If you have your own separate policies that is probably one of the best moves you can make. You might be spending more in some areas but you have a contract directly with the insurance company that you can take with you. When you work for a company and leave that company you lose those benefits. It is important if you don't have your own policies you take this open season very seriously.
